One thing that attracts tourist to Hawaii aside from the lovely beaches is the dance that the people perform to their visitors. It is the grace that sets the dancers apart from the other dancers seen on other tourist destinations all around the world. The Hula dance, the most popular dance from Hawaii brings joy to tourists and even to the local residents. The dance and the fashion of Hula has already reached and conquered other countries.
The dances in Hawaii tell so much of the rich culture that the Hawaiians have. The costumes and accessories are with extraordinary beauty that makes tourist get attracted. One of the accessories I like most in the hula dance costume are the colorful and exotic flowers on the dancers’ ears and hands and the perfect leis on their neck.
The Hawaiian Leis are symbols of affection and welcome. They are usually given to visitors but now they are used widely as a huge accessory in the hula fashion. They are also very important factors that make weddings more attractive and lovely. The leis come in different colors and styles. One of the traditional leis is the Maille Leaf Lei. It is composed mainly of the woven Maille leaf that is also very sweet-smelling. Also one of the most popular is the dendrobium orchids. The leis could also come not only with flowers but also with shells, seeds and feathers.
The next accessory that I appreciate most is the hula skirt. They also come in different festive colors that are made from different materials. The skirts are mostly made from raffia but they could also be made out of leaves. They also come in different lengths. The short hula skirts now becoming more popular compared to the long ones.
Next accessory that brings me awe are the bras. They can be made with flowery clothe but now the shell bra and coconut bras are already being accepted. The shell bra brings a wide imagination to the one wearing it and she may feel like a true mermaid. The coconut bras are the dried coconut halves that have been hallowed, smoothed and varnished to give comfort to the one using it. The bikini bras in all different styles could really enhance the overall look of the dancer.
Dancing the hula does not only start and end with knowing the movements and learning the grace. You must also have the most attractive costume and accessory to fully provide the feeling of being a hula dancer. The choices are many for as long as you are open to wearing sexy on those outfits.
I could already see myself in that perfect hula fashion statement. I have shopped all over Hawaii just to get my desired skirt color and length, the most fragrant and colorful leis, the sexy bras and the flowers that could compliment my overall look. Dancing hula all night long could not bring me stress after I know that the costume looks so good on me. Go get your own hula outfit now and lets dance the hula till be die.
The Magic Of Hula
Hawaii is not only a place full of wonderful beaches and friendly people. It is also a sweet place that is the origin of the Hula dance. It has been passed from generation to generation to preserve Hawaii’s lovely and rich culture. Hula has played major role in promoting Hawaii for tourism. Hula’s music now has evolved from traditional to the more popular styles.
Hula is more about chanting and dance. It was used to communicate and express praise through their festivals and secular events. It was also functional in Hawaii’s genealogy and mythology. The rhythms, music, instruments and motion of the dancers express their emotions. No words could compare how hula has captured our hearts.
Hula is rich in poetry. Mimetic dance is the language. Hula and other Hawaiian dances and music always tell a story. Hula was meant to be a religious dance to tell a story about the Islands of Hawaii. It is incorporating unique sign language and dance. The meaning of each movement of the hands gives focus to different things like the flowers, people, animals, water and love.
The influence of Hula has already reached worldwide. When it comes to traditional dances, it is one of the most performed and loved during celebrations. Maybe that is because of the magic on the chants and movement done through the hands. The dancers also come very attractive in their wrapped skirts. The leis on their neck and their smiles capture anyone who is watching them.
I have always wanted to learn how to dance the Hula. I feel like it could be one of the dances that could be calming in effect of the motion done in the dance. Being in Hawaii is not worth it if you do not get to dance the hula. The way they do it is spectacular. It does not only give entertainment but also grace. I learned that to be able to do it gracefully, you have to do proper breathing and chanting. The art of moving your hand is started by stretching it out and then doing graceful acts on the things included on the melody of the song.
The meaning through movement of hands in the Hula dance is conveying how the Hawaiians love their islands and the things they see around. I know that Hula will come a long way after this generation. It will surely be passed on to our great granddaughters. Now that I know more about Hula, I could say that I am appreciating and loving Hawaii more than ever.
Staying in a beautiful place with overflowing culture through their dance is more than worth it. The dancers who are teaching me how to do the Hula properly are experts. The costume is great and I am actually collecting them for the future. When I become a pro at Hula dancing, maybe I could teach other people too.
Hula is magic to me! The beaches plus Hula is extraordinary! Living in Hawaii and having a longer vacation is on the list.
